Ceramic Slurry Pump Full Introduction
EHC Series

Imported composite ceramic pump for ultra-fine particle & strong acid-alkali slurry.

Ceramic Material Property

Wetted components adopt reaction sintered silicon carbide ceramic:

- Mohs hardness 9, second only to diamond; abrasion resistance 3~6 times higher than A05 high-chrome alloy.

- Excellent chemical inertness, resistant to pH 1~14 acid & alkali (except hydrofluoric acid HF).

- Mirror smooth inner surface, low flow resistance, anti-scaling & superior anti-cavitation performance.

- Low thermal expansion coefficient, stable continuous operation below 80℃.

Overall Composite Double-Casing Structure
1. Pressure-bearing Metal Outer Casing: Ductile iron / high-chrome cast iron shell to bear pipeline pressure and protect fragile ceramic liners from impact crack.

2. Replaceable Ceramic Wetted Core Parts: Ceramic impeller, front liner, back liner, volute liner, all detachable individually without whole pump replacement.

3. Shaft Seal System (3 optional solutions)

    - Option 1: Auxiliary impeller + mechanical seal, zero leakage for high-end concentrator plant;

    - Option 2: Auxiliary impeller + packing seal, economical general mining solution;

    - Option 3: Seal-free design for vertical ceramic froth pump only.

4. Heavy Bearing Cartridge Assembly: Thickened heavy-duty bearings, external grease nipple, built-in temperature measuring port for DCS monitoring.

5. Driving Unit: Elastic coupling direct motor drive, optional V-belt drive & frequency conversion speed regulation; pump outlet can rotate 360° for flexible installation.

Working Principle
Same centrifugal conveying theory as standard horizontal slurry pump, with performance upgraded by ceramic material:

Motor drives ceramic impeller to high-speed rotation, generating centrifugal force to boost and deliver solid-containing acid-alkali slurry. Mirror-smooth ceramic lining greatly reduces particle erosion and chemical corrosion by flotation reagents. Optimized hydraulic channel mitigates cavitation damage caused by bubble collapse, maintaining stable flow & head without obvious attenuation after long-term operation.

Core Advantages
1. Dual Superior Wear & Corrosion Resistance, Multiplied Service Life

High-hardness ceramic resists both particle scouring and acid/alkali corrosion. In fine concentrate slurry, its service life reaches 3~10 times of high-chrome metal pump, drastically reducing downtime & spare part replacement frequency.

2. Mirror Smooth Flow Channel, Higher Hydraulic Efficiency

Sintered ceramic surface has no pores, lowering friction loss. Pump efficiency improves 5%~8% under identical working conditions, saving long-term power consumption; anti-sludge & anti-crystallization, less regular cleaning required.

3. Outstanding Anti-Cavitation Performance

Ceramic withstands shock of collapsing air bubbles, no perforation or leakage for overflow, underflow and filter press feeding slurry prone to cavitation.

4. Lower Total Life-Cycle Maintenance Cost

Ceramic wetted parts have ultra-long replacement cycle. Though initial purchase cost is higher than metal pump, overall cost of spare parts, production halt and labor drops significantly in long run.

5. Full Interchangeability with Standard AH Metal Slurry Pump

External dimension of ceramic liners matches AH high-chrome pumps perfectly; no modification on existing pipeline and base frame needed for upgrade.

Limitations (Must Avoid During Selection)

1. Poor impact resistance for large particles: Only applicable for particles ≤4mm; coarse ore over 5mm will crack ceramic liners under heavy impact, forbidden for primary grinding circuit.

2. Brittle material: Dry running without slurry cooling will cause thermal shock & ceramic crack, strictly prohibited.

3. Cannot handle hydrofluoric acid (HF), HF erodes silicon carbide ceramic.

4. Higher one-time procurement cost compared with standard high-chrome alloy slurry pump.

Standard Performance Scope
- Inlet & outlet diameter: 50~400mm

- Flow rate: 17~2408 m³/h

- Head: 10~138 m, multi-stage series available for higher head

- Max medium temperature: ≤80℃

- Applicable pH value: 1~14 (No HF hydrofluoric acid)

- Allowable solid particle size: ≤4mm, optimal when -200 mesh fine particles ≥40%

- Max slurry concentration by weight: ≤60%

- Matched motor power: 7.5~400kW

Applicable Industries & Media
1. Non-Ferrous Metal Mining (Core Application)

Copper, lead-zinc, gold, silver, nickel concentrator: cleaning cell overflow, concentrate pump, filter press feeding pump, thickener underflow fine acidic slurry.

2. Non-Metallic Ore: Fluorite, graphite flotation froth slurry, acidic mineral reagent pulp.

3. Chemical New Materials: Titanium dioxide, iron oxide red abrasive slurry, corrosive phosphate & potash fertilizer pulp.

4. Thermal Power FGD System: Limestone gypsum slurry, acidic desulfurization wastewater.

5. Hydrometallurgy: Leaching tank slurry, electrolytic residue slurry, pickling waste liquid.

6. Environmental Wastewater Treatment: Acidic sludge, chemical solid-laden wastewater, corrosive air-flotation froth.

Key Selection Guidelines

1. Particle size is the primary judging standard: Do not select ceramic pump if ore particle over 4mm or primary coarse grinding circuit; choose ceramic pump for secondary cleaning & filter press fine slurry.

2. If medium contains sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, flotation acid reagent or desulfurization gypsum slurry, ceramic pump is mandatory; select high-chrome pump economically for neutral tailing sand slurry.

3. Not recommended for medium temperature over 80℃; strictly forbidden for HF hydrofluoric acid medium.

4. Reserve 15% margin for flow rate & head, corrosive slurry brings higher pipeline resistance.

5. Prioritize ceramic pump for 24-hour continuous production without frequent maintenance halt; select metal pump for intermittent short-term dredging work.

Daily Maintenance Instructions
1. Strictly prohibit dry running: Fill slurry completely before startup to avoid ceramic thermal shock crack.

2. Flush pump cavity with clean water after every shift shutdown to remove reagent crystallization and fine sediment, preventing impeller jamming.

3. Refill bearing grease every 500 running hours, monitor bearing operating temperature regularly.

4. Inspect ceramic liners for cracks and edge chipping periodically; replace damaged parts immediately to avoid shaft seal abrasion by ceramic fragments.

5. Handle ceramic wetted parts gently during overhaul & hoisting, no hard knocking impact. Fully drain slurry and flush with clean water for long-term shutdown before storage.
